Rufus Sylvester Lynch, DSW, ACSW, & NASW Social Work Pioneer®, currently serves as Chair of The Strong Families Commission, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that advocates for strengthening families and improving developmental outcomes for children by promoting greater father-family involvement in the lives of children and families, and the intentional transformation of social service agencies and other systems of care that serve communities and families. Lynch also directs and oversees the activities of the Pennsylvania Symposium Organizing Committee (SOC), which includes the development of a Pennsylvania Fathers, Families & Service Providers Network (PFFSPN), initially funded by FRPN.
Dr. Lynch formerly served as Professor and Dean of the Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. He has held senior staff positions in the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of Pennsylvania’s State Government.
